The country’s only multicity radio service also saw growth across its breakfast, mid-morning and afternoon shows with ‘Colm & Lucy in the Morning’, ‘Trina Mara @ Work’, and Damien Farrelly in the Afternoon all strong showing growth in their listenership figures.

The latest JNLR/Ipsos survey reveals that 3.5 million people tune into radio each weekday, the highest audience ever, with the 9am to 9.15 time slot being the most popular time of the day to listen, with an audience of 1.56 million tuning in at that time each weekday.

CEO Kevin Branigan said, “We’ve seen significant listenership growth in recent years in the large multicity franchise area of 2.6 million people. Radio is changing and listeners choose what they want to listen to. We’re very focussed on what we do. It appears to be working and its gratifying to see the efforts of our team paying off in cementing Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio as a major national brand.”
