Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio has received its highest market share and daily listenership in its 17 year history, with a primetime market share of 7.2% and daily reach of 211,000 in the Multicity area. The Multicity area takes in 2.3M people in Dublin Cork Limerick Galway and Clare.
The station has also seen strong growth in its daytime shows with Trina Mara @ Work increasing to 98,000 and Damien Farrelly in the Afternoon increasing to 110,000.
The latest ratings mark a succession of increases for Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio
Programme Director Dave Kelly said, ” “We’re delighted with the latest results. Ireland’s Classic Hits radio is one of the largest commercial radio stations in the country. More people than every are joining us every day than ever and our blend of music from the 80s and 90s is proving to be a winner with listeners”.
Classic Hits recently announced that it was to extend its broadcast area to an additional 1,2 million people across Ireland via the Fáilte DAB Mux2 trial; the DAB provides Classic Hits with additional coverage in the North and South Midlands, the South East, North East, Waterford and parts of the North West
